Luxury Homes in Country Club

Country Club is one of Denver’s most distinguished neighborhoods.  Framed by the Denver Country Club to the south, 8th Avenue to the north, and by University Boulevard and Downing Street to the east and west respectively. Country Club was designed, as the name suggests, in conjunction with the prestigious Denver Country Club bordering the southern portion of the neighborhood.

The Country Club community includes more than the historic district, stretching all the way up to 8th Avenue, and includes a majestic array of homes in diverse architectural styles such as Colonial, Gothic, and Mediterranean.  Country Club homes showcase shining examples of the Denver Square Style and other 20th century eclectic revival styles.

Country Club real estate is among the most sought-after in the Denver-Metro area.  Almost entirely residential, Country Club provides residents with an upscale, private atmosphere.  However, high-end shopping centers Cherry Creek Mall and Cherry Creek North are within walking distance, and major nearby thoroughfares make it easy for residents to reach downtown Denver in mere minutes.

Country Club Historic District

The Country Club Historic District, registered in 1979 with the National Register of Historic Places, anchors the neighborhood.  It creates an L-shaped area 10 blocks by 4 blocks along 1st Avenue and University Boulevard.  Country Club homes in the Historic District were built around the turn of the century by some of Denver’s most famous architects, including Benedict, Biscoe, Fisher and Fisher, Gove and Walsh, and Varian and Sterner.
Although the Country Club Historic District is relatively small, encompassing only 380 homes, lots in neighborhood are far more generous than the average grid.  Stunning homes sit on expansive estates lined by lushly landscaped avenues and surrounded by old-growth trees.
